New Student Update #13 - Last Update

12/13/2019

01 - New Student Information

I-LEARN CANVAS
I-Learn is where you will be able to access your course information, assignments, and grades. Students can log in to I-Learn the week before the semester starts. Teachers normally make their classes available the weekend before, so make sure to check I-Learn even before classes start to see if prep assignments are due the first day! Students who need additional help can click on the Help menu within I-Learn Canvas or call BYU-Idaho at (208) 496-1411.

MEAL PLANS
BYU-Idaho offers 3 different suggested meal plans. The plans use Dining dollars, or prepaid food dollars, that are added to your I-Card. Dining dollars are usable at all Food Service venues and vending machines. They are convenient and fast, and roll over from semester to semester. Find more about prices and plans here.

02 - University Culture

PLANETARIUM
We offer public shows every Thursday evening at 7:00 pm, $2 at the door. Private shows at other times may be scheduled as well. Shows from this past semester include: Wonders of the Universe, Capcom Go, and Dawn of the Space Age. The planetarium offers an opportunity to explore our universe.

HEBER J GRANT MENTORS
The Heber J. Grant mentor program is an opportunity for students to meet regularly, one-on-one, with a peer mentor. Their mentor will act as a life coach that assists students in setting and achieving goals to succeed in college and beyond, a guide to campus resources, and a friend.

LEARNING MODEL
The Learning Model was created to deepen the learning experiences of students at BYU-Idaho. The Learning Model enables students to take greater responsibility for their own learning and for teaching one another. The model is structured around three steps: Prepare, Teach One Another, and Ponder/Prove.
