GET CONNECTED
​Get Connected (new student orientation) is your official start to BYU-Idaho. It consists of interactive presentations and activities designed to help you successfully begin your college experience. View schedule here.
NEW STUDENT TALENT SHOW
​Are you interested in sharing your talent with the incoming students Winter semester? Don’t be shy; we are counting on you! Try-outs will be held Jan 6th from 9am-1:30pm. We are looking forward to a great show!
I-NIGHT
​I-Night is the can’t-miss semester kick-off party held on Tuesday, January 7th from 7:00-11:00pm. Purchase tickets here

02 - University Culture

HONOR CODE
​“The CES Honor Code exists to educate students in an atmosphere consistent with the ideals and principles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a condition of admission, students and employees of BYU-Idaho are expected to live by the Honor Code standards approved by the Board of Trustees ‘at all times... and in all places’ (Mosiah 18:9). Individuals who are not members of the Church are also expected to maintain the same standards of honor, integrity, morality, and consideration of others.” -from the Student Honor Office website.

AROUND REXBURG
​Only about 12 miles away from Rexburg, R Mountain is a staple of Rexburg. R Mountain is actually the remnants of an old volcanic cinder cone. Once you get to the top, you can walk all the way around the rim in a complete circle.

04 - Physical Activities

SPORTS
​Learn the fundamentals of fencing and fine-tune your skills playing with others of like interest. There is no cost to participate in the classes for those who register in advance. Every Saturday in the Hart Gym. 
FITNESS
​The Yogathon is a chance to do Yoga for 2 hours straight! This event happens each semester. You will get a touch of each style and refreshments will be served.

OUTDOORS
​Join us for a trip to Heise Hot Springs and soak your worries away. Heise Hot Springs is a local hot pool. Please come prepared with a swimsuit, towel and any snacks or drinks you may like. Included in the cost of the trip is transportation and entrance fee.

05 - Social Activities

SOCIAL
​Come join us every Friday from 5-6pm in the Library Conference room for the R & R Book club. It is a time to rest and relax from your day to day schedule. Meet together and talk about books you love.
SERVICE
​Every Saturday from 8:45am-12:00pm come to the Animal Shelter to volunteer! We will be taking care of cats and dogs, kept in separate rooms for those with allergies. Meet at the MC roundabout at 8:45am.
TALENT
​Enjoy BYU-Idaho’s own popular comedy show featuring the funniest in sketch comedy. Humor Code will now be showing in the MC Special Events room. Admission is $3.

06 - What Current Students Wish They Knew Earlier

  • There is a shuttle that goes from Rexburg to Salt Lake City and back, and makes stops along the way. This shuttle is called the Salt Lake Express.
  • You can get Microsoft Office for free, including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, through the University Store because you are a student.
  • There is a plant shop on campus where you can buy flowers, plants, herbs, and vegetables at an affordable price.
