02-University Culture

Around Rexburg | Packsaddle Lake

Packsaddle Lake is a beautiful, 5.2 mile hike in the Driggs, Wyoming area. It has a breathtaking forest landscape and a rewarding view of the lake at the end. With the proper vehicle you can drive in from the paved road, cutting the hike down to around 1.8 miles.

Take a break off of homework, grab your roommates, pack a lunch, and set out on a drive to Packsaddle Lake to spend the day hiking and swimming. This is such a fun day trip!

Emotionally Prepare for School | Nature

Some say that nature is the best healer. Just spending 30 minutes in nature, uninterrupted by technology, homework, and life responsibilities, can have a huge impact on your attitude and excitement for life. Spending time in nature gives you a better appreciation for God's creations and gives yourself a space to think and reflect on your own life.

There are lots of opportunities here at BYU-Idaho
to connect with nature and help stabilize our minds. One of those opportunities is canoeing!
For just $10 you can receive transportation, a canoe, and gear to take out and enjoy the surrounding landscape.
Just relax, reflect and take in
the view!

06-Did You Know?

Swank | Academic Societies | DLC

  • The David O. Mackay library has an online video database called Swank where students can stream movies for free! Swank works great for a roommate movie night or date night!
  • There are Academic Societies you can join on campus. Academic societies exist to: extend & enhance the learning experience, improve professional opportunities, provide a forum for dialogue & interaction among faculty, provide leadership opportunities, & create bonds of friendship among students.
  • The Disciple-Leader Conference happens once a semester. It inspires students to become strong leaders of the future and at BYU-Idaho. Attendants will receive a DLC
    t-shirt, dinner & dessert!

07-Inspirational Message

Disciple Preparation Center

“Let me suggest that in Rexburg, Idaho, we are in the process of creating not a Missionary Training Center (MTC), but a Disciple Preparation Center - a DPC... you and I have access
to unparalleled spiritual resources that assist us in developing and deepening our devotion
as disciples of Jesus Christ. That is the primary and most important reason for the
existence of BYU-Idaho."  -David A. Bednar
